Base makeup for combo, acne prone, cool toned skin

Our take

Are you ready to unlock the secret to a flawless, natural base makeup that complements your combination, acne-prone, cool-toned skin? It sounds like skin tints could be your best friend, offering a lightweight finish that enhances your natural glow while addressing dryness. However, your moisturizer’s shine and the challenge of emphasizing acne scars require careful consideration. Let’s explore whether a setting spray could be your go-to or if skin tints can deliver the radiant, effortlessly chic look you crave.

I love the natural look of skin tints on other people but am not sure if it will look right on my combination skin with acne scars. Tretinoin causes a lot of flakiness some days, and my moisturizer makes me look shiny. I don’t really use any primers or setting spray. Most base makeup I’ve used in the past is drugstore.

Does it sound like skin tints may be better for me because of my dryness, or will they turn too greasy because of my moisturizer, also emphasizing my scars? Or should I focus on a setting spray?

Basically, I want to have nice, natural looking base makeup but I’m not sure how to get there.

I appreciate any recommendations!

I also have very pink, cool toned skin which makes it hard to find a shade that matches from most brands.
