Beauty treatment regrets

Our take

Embarking on a glam-up journey can be thrilling, but it’s easy to have beauty treatment regrets, especially when venturing into salon services for the first time. At 22 and with a penchant for home beauty routines, you're considering lash lifts, hair removal options, and eyebrow shaping. Each treatment comes with its own set of potential pitfalls, from lash tech horror stories to concerns about skin reactions.

The glow-up journey isn't just about polish—it's a masterclass in navigating beauty chaos with confidence. That 22-year-old Korean beauty newbie diving into salon treatments for the first time? She's tapping into a universal rite of passage, where the quest for glamour meets the hilarious reality of lash mite paranoia and "crispy" brows. Her questions—threading vs. waxing, falsies vs. extensions, the elusive brow lamination—are less about vanity and more about decoding the sacred scripts of self-care. As she transitions from kitchen-mask rituals to salon couture, she joins a global tribe seeking that sweet spot between relatable and radiant, proving that true empowerment often arrives wrapped in a touch of ironic humor. Help! Trying to look better barefaced mirrors her barefaced ambitions, while Brow lamination and tint echoes her brow-shaped curiosity.

This beauty baptism matters because it exposes the gap between aspirational couture and the messy, human reality of maintenance. Lash horror stories aren't just drama—they're cautionary tales about trusting your tech, a lesson in discernment that applies beyond beauty. Her pore-reaction panic post-wax? That’s the relatable glamour we crave: acknowledging that even luxury comes with minor chaos. The Korean lash lift quest signals a savvy cultural awareness, blending tradition with modern trends, while her falsie experiment proves that humor and resourcefulness are the ultimate beauty accessories. She’s not just seeking treatments; she’s curating a persona where confidence and candor coexist—after all, what’s more empowering than admitting you practiced your couture walk in the kitchen?

Ultimately, her journey is a rebellion against "perfect." By avoiding corporate jargon and embracing relatable chaos, she embodies the new luxury: polished but unfiltered, aspirational yet approachable. The treatments she’s eyeing—lashes, brows, hair removal—aren’t just enhancements; they’re signposts of self-discovery. As she navigates the beauty labyrinth, we’re all watching: Will she emerge as a laminated goddess or a crispy-brow cautionary tale? The real question isn’t which treatment to prioritize, but how we redefine beauty rituals as acts of joyful rebellion in a world obsessed with exclusivity. After all, isn’t the ultimate glow-up finding humor in the hunt itself?

Hi,

For context, I am 22F and of Korean descent.

I am in my glo up journey and have decided to try salon beauty treatments (I've always done everything at home including eyebrow tweeting, face masks, skincare, makeup). I am looking to do these following beauty treatments at the beauty salon:

- Lash lift/extensions -> never had these done before, looking to get a korean lash lift definitely, I bought some falsies - I wonder if these could mimick what having extensions is like. I've ehsrd of lash tech horror stories, lash mites, etc which makes me a bit concerned about getting extensions.

- Hair removal -> can anyone advise me on which is better: threading or waxing? (I've seen people get reactions from both). I've had waxing done on my upper lip once before I think it went okay it's just that some of my pores got red and bigger(?)

- Eyebrow shaping/tint/lamination -> never had any of these done, curious to see how they would look like an me, provided I find a good brow tech, rhere doesn't seem to be much repercussions except for lamination maintenance. I've heard people disliking lamination though especially if they turn the brows "crispy".

Can people advise on any of these treatments if you've had them done before, which ones would have the most impact/should I not miss out that would enhance my glo up even more! Also any more beauty treatments you'd recommend in general(non-invasive only!)
