Glass skin- small pores- what is it?

Our Take: The Glow-Up Lowdown

Okay, let’s talk about that ethereal, almost-not-real skin. You know the one – the kind that makes you squint at your screen and wonder if a fairy godmother sprinkled magic dust on their face. It’s the whole “glass skin” phenomenon, and it’s got us all curious. We’ve seen the transformations, the seamless makeup looks, and yes, the whispers of microneedling and dermaplaning. It’s less about chasing perfection and more about understanding the fabulous artistry behind that radiant glow. It’s like admiring a couture gown; you appreciate the craftsmanship, the intricate details, and the sheer confidence it exudes.

The truth is, achieving that dewy, poreless-looking complexion isn't always just about a brilliant makeup artist (though they certainly help!). While Botox might give that smooth, lifted effect, there’s a whole world of skincare innovations that are stepping up to the plate. Think of it as backstage access to the glamour. Treatments like microneedling work wonders by stimulating collagen production, essentially giving your skin a gentle nudge to refresh and refine. Dermaplaning, on the other hand, is like a super-gentle exfoliation, sweeping away those pesky dead skin cells that can make skin look dull. It’s about embracing the journey of skin health, not just a fleeting moment of flawless.

For those of us who prefer a more streamlined approach, the good news is that you don't need an elaborate ten-step routine to see results. The key is often consistency and smart choices. It’s about finding those treatments and products that empower your skin to do its best work. Instead of aiming for an unattainable ideal, let’s celebrate the confidence that comes from feeling good in our own skin, supported by a little bit of savvy science and a lot of self-care. After all, a little bit of informed indulgence can go a long way in illuminating your natural radiance.

Perhaps it’s makeup to some degree I’m sure, but I’ve heard ppl talk about microneedling, derma-planing etc and I’m just curious. Using Whitney Leavitt as an example. I watched SLOMW this last season and her face has gotten exponentially better over the years, with minimal makeup. I think fundamentally speaking, many women are using Botox which gives that tight forehead and outer eye look. But is there something else skin care wise that is helping these women have better skin? I am a low…
