I really want to blonde my hair more but I’m so scared of damage. I have dyed, long healthy hair but my roots are always so dark and I feel like it looks balayage/ grown out not in a good way. If I commit to getting my hair dyed lighted blonde, highlights- how much is this really going to damage my hair? Hairstylist fill me in! Thank you

- Will I regret dying my hair ? Will it damage and ruin my natural colour?I’ve had my natural blonde hair my whole life I am 20 for context. I have bleached and dyed the under part pink before but the rest is untouched. I’ve always wanted darker hair maybe a dark brown or burnette but I am worried I won’t be able to get my natural blonde back if I hate it. Does anyone recommend keeping natural hair or is it worth it to dye it brown? My hair is pretty thick and wavy so I don’t think it will damage it too much but I’m worried I will hate the colour of everyone in my life will tell me I looked better blonde as it seems to be THE colour now day. submitted by /u/VegetableFlimsy3415 [link] [comments]
- How badly will bleach damage my hair if its virgin hairI’m thinking about lightening my hair from dark brown to a light brown, and I’d be getting it done professionally at a salon (not DIY). Right now, my hair is virgin, straight, and of medium thickness. I’ve attached photos of my current colour and the kind of light brown I’m hoping to achieve. From what I understand, bleach is usually needed to lighten hair, but I’m a bit worried about how damaging it actually is, even when done professionally. A friend of mine with a similar starting colour bleached her hair a few times and said it really affected the texture and overall health of her hair, which made me hesitate. So I wanted to ask: How damaging is it, realistically, to go from dark brown to light brown with professional bleaching? Is it less damaging since my hair is virgin? Would something like highlights or balayage be a safer alternative in terms of maintaining hair health? I’d really appreciate input from hairdressers or anyone who’s gone through something similar! I've added pics of my og colour, the highlights I may consider, as well as the lighter brown colour I ideally want. - Help pleaseA month ago I bleached my hair and used a cheap hair dye… and yeah, now I’m paying the price. My hair is super dry, brittle, and the color honestly looks terrible 😭 I was thinking of coloring it again before it fades into something even worse, but I’m worried about damaging it more. Any advice on how to repair my hair first? And what shades would be safer or look better on already bleached, damaged hair? submitted by /u/spicyyynooodles [link] [comments]
