has anyone successfully made their lashes thicker/longer?
Our take
You’re stuck in a lash limbo—between the promise of extensions, the frustration of serums, and the fear of messing with your binocular vision. It’s a mess of trial and error, and honestly? You’re not alone. The lash industry thrives on hype, but the reality is messy: clusters ruined lashes, Grande Lash causing redness, and a refill schedule that feels like a part-time job. But here’s the thing—your frustration isn’t just about lashes. It’s about the pressure to look “perfect” without the chaos.
The truth is, lash extensions aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution. Clusters, once the go-to, are now seen as outdated—too heavy, too damaging. Singles are better, but even they require precision. And then there’s the serum game: Grande Lash’s formula changes, castor oil myths, and the endless scroll of Walmart tubs. It’s a circus of hope and heartbreak. But what’s often overlooked is the emotional toll. Your lashes aren’t just about aesthetics; they’re a daily ritual, a confidence booster, and a source of anxiety when they don’t cooperate.
This isn’t just about beauty—it’s about trust. When you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, it’s easy to doubt your own efforts. The industry sells “solutions,” but the reality is often a patchwork of half-answers. That’s why your question matters: it’s a call for clarity in a sea of noise. And let’s not forget the binocular vision concern. It’s a valid worry—your eyes aren’t just for looking; they’re part of your health. The lash world needs to prioritize safety over spectacle.
The good news? You’re not alone in this. Others are asking the same questions, and the conversation is shifting. But until then, keep asking, keep trying, and remember: your lashes are part of your story, not a problem to solve.
Hi, i have naturally downturned, straight, short, thin lashes… i use to get a lash lift but it honestly never did much…. i tried lash extensions years ago and didn’t know there was different kinds aka clusters vs singles.. i had clusters they were WAY to heavy for my eyes and completely ruined my lashes when i asked them to remove them after 2 weeks instead of doing a refill… my lashes “grew back” as in they were still the short straight lashes i knew.
I’ve tried grande lash but it was making my eyes red so i stopped before i could see results. My friend uses this tho and her lashes grew soooo long and pretty! I’m just worried because i have binocular vision dysfunction and I don’t know if it would mess with that!
Recently in the past month i’ve gone back for extensions after YEARS of trying random serums from walmart.. or even a castor oil recommendation from my esthetician.
nothing has done ANYTHING
i’ve gotten my single lash extensions refilled once so far… but tbh it’s not even the money that’s the issue it’s more so time consuming and how often they get sparse!! sitting in a chair with my eyes closed for almost 3 hours every 2 weeks for $70. I’m also very worried about my nature lashes being completely ruined. I follow the care instructions but i can’t help but wish my natural lashes were thick and long!!
before the extensions i have now i can curl them good with a curler as they are and add water proof mascara but they still just look stubby!!
any recommendations?

- Did Grande lash change the formula (about a year or so ago) or has anyone gotten contact dermatitis from it??I know this is long but PLEASE I need help so badly — over a year long issue I can’t seem to figure out I started using grande lash about 3-4 years ago. The first couple years were great, my lashes were SO long and full they looked like extensions, and I had no negative side effects. After that, I remember having a 6-12 month long period of not using it because I was too lazy to repurchase tbh. I finally got it again and was so excited to get my long lashes back, but things were never the same After using it again for a while, I didn’t have any negative side effects, but my lashes weren’t even close to as long/full as they were that first go around Eventually, I noticed having lots of missing chunks of lashes, constant styes (but like rly tiny ones that would go away on their own after a couple days), and many lashes growing above my normal lash line but they weren’t normal lashes. Idk what the actual name for these are but I just call them “dead lashes” lol, referring to the ones that bend in weird ways or just fall horizontally, then come out super easily if u touch them. So I started having a ton of these shedding, along with normal ones too - more shedding than the usual lash cycle Anyways, I’ve been experiencing the WORST eye dermatitis for about a year now. Huge red circles on eyelids and under eye (like raccoon eyes, not just right by the lash line), itchiness, flare ups of MAJOR puffiness (a couple times my eyes looked almost shut) and the more minor times look similar to a hive, then once the puffing goes down it dries up, crusts and flakes like crazy. It goes back to normal for a bit then a flare up happens again I switch to a basic routine during flare ups, which includes stopping the lash serum. Then once I’m stable for a while again I re-introduce it. Idk why I never considered the possibility that the serum could be potentially causing this - probably cause I’ve used for so long without reaction, it’s taken me a while to turn my head to it. I’m just starting to wonder if this is the cause. It’s 100% contact dermatitis, I’ve gotten it on my hands and neck as well though so idk. I can’t keep living like this, constant pain and itching, worried about every little thing I put on my face, always catering to it - I’m exhausted Did they change their formula sometime within the past few years? Or has anyone had a similar experience/know more about how contact dermatitis works?? Can u develop it even towards something u have been using for so long? Literally any advice would be so helpful submitted by /u/Working_Bother_7463 [link] [comments]
- Lash serum journeyI am someone who suffers from OCD and part of it is pulling out hair and lashes.. (only with mascara on in my case) The before picture is just awful. Which is when I started using a lash serum (uklash at first). I have always had hooded eyes and I didnt care about loosing orbital fat, as I wanted more open eyes. The after picture is a year later (nanolash now). The length isnt as drastic, but the volume I have now is insane. I cannot recommend a lash serum more. I still sometimes pull my lashes, but less, because honestly they are so beautiful I often catch myself doing it and stop. But I am on the last drops of my nanolash bottle. So I am wondering what lash serums do you recommend? Which are preferably under 50$ (just pls not the ordinary one) submitted by /u/MeanCucumber1993 [link] [comments]
