Looking for color contacts similar to Air Optix Colors “Honey” (light amber, slightly reddish)

Our take

Are you on the hunt for color contacts that mirror the stunning Air Optix Colors “Honey”? This light amber shade, with its subtle reddish undertones, strikes a perfect balance between yellow and deep brown, creating that coveted “lit from within” look. While exploring options, it’s surprising how many amber lenses lean too ashy or gray, especially from Korean brands, which often prioritize natural, nuanced colors. If you have recommendations for similar lenses that capture the unique essence of Honey, your input would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve been trying to find color contact lenses similar to Air Optix Colors “Honey”, and I’m surprised how hard it is.

What I like about Honey is that it’s a light amber with a subtle reddish tone. It’s not too yellow and not too dark. A lot of brown lenses with red undertones tend to be quite deep, while lighter browns usually lean yellow (which makes sense since they move toward hazel). Honey kind of sits right in between, which feels rare.

To me, it also has a slightly ashy dark brown outer edge with a more vibrant reddish highlight, which gives it that “lit from within” look.

Most “amber” lenses I find now, especially from Korean brands, tend to lean more ashy or gray, which feels like a completely different vibe.

For context, Air Optix Colors was my go-to about 10 years ago. I still love the Honey shade, but the design feels a bit dated now, especially compared to newer lenses from South Korea.

Back then, Japanese and Western brands were the standard, but now I’m more drawn to Korean lenses. They tend to look more natural, with softer patterns and more nuanced, layered colors. Instead of just primary tones like green or blue, they go for more complex shades, like beige with a hint of lavender, if that makes sense.

But surprisingly, I can’t seem to find anything like Honey on Korean sites like OLENS.

I know this is super niche, but if anyone has recommendations for something similar, I’d really appreciate it 🙏
