I've been wanting to make myself more appealing lately, mostly just incase I try to make a move on a guy I've been looking at. I don't want to have totally gross hands.

I've never really put any effort into my appearance, I haven't felt a need to. Hair looks fine, face looks fine, but I was also never taught any self care besides "shower. shampoo, conditioner, body." I'm not sure if I should be doing more than that. I don't really care to make changes because all that feels fine.

My hands though 😫. I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to clip my nails but we don't have clippers, I was told I can just peel them off when I got to an independent enough age, thats what I've always done and I'm almost 19 now. That's the only change I would think to make.

I feel like they they peel more than everyone else, I've never seen someone with this. I dont like the weird stripes of skin that come up, the nails just look dry and gross to me, my palms always peel and I don't know how to get rid of it. I have callouses on the sides of some of my fingers where I pick and peel anxiously. I for sure have to stop that, but if the callouses weren't there I don't think I'd peel the soft skin.

I'd like someone to not be completely grossed out by me not having the same girly hands everyone else does.
