Skincare Advice
Our take
Hello! I have oily skin and I’m very prone to blackheads and whiteheads. My main concern is my pores, they look super visible (I know it’s normal, but sometimes it can still be really bothersome 😭). Even when I wear skin tint or makeup, they’re still noticeable.
I’m currently using COSRX Salicylic Acid Pore Cleanser, Skinlab Tomato Toner, and Moisturizer, but I’m not really seeing any improvement with my pores. I’m not acne-prone (thankfully), so my main issues are really oiliness and pore appearance.
Do you have any product recommendations or routine tips that worked for you in minimizing pores and controlling oil?
I’m also thinking of trying retinol, but I’m not sure if it’s necessary for my concerns or if it might be too much. Do you think it would help, or should I focus on other product first?
Any advice or experiences would really help. Thank you so much in advance!! 🤍

- Skincare struggle advice and how to reduce poreHiiii! I’m 21F and I have very combination-to-oily skin. Since it’s summer, it gets worse — I need 2–3 blotting sheets just to control the oil, and I always use each sheet only once. My skincare routine includes a cream acne cleanser, RL Dokdo toner, Skin1004 brightening serum, and a moisturizer. At night, I use a Meditherapy retinol 3 times a week instead of the serum. My pores don’t seem to be improving, and my skin often looks dull. I don’t really struggle with acne—just 3–4 pimples a month—but I do have a habit of picking at blackheads and whiteheads I can’t resist. My whiteheads also seem to appear almost overnight, even though I don’t wear makeup. I’ve realized I’m not using any exfoliator, so even after cleansing my skin still feels oily and not fully clean. If anyone has similar skin or has dealt with this before, I’d really appreciate feedbacks or any product for managing oiliness, reducing blackheads, and improving the appearance of pores. Pls pls pls help a girl out! submitted by /u/Puzzled_Classroom743 [link] [comments]
- [ Routine Help] Help with visible poresI'm trying to improve the appearance of my pores and want genuine product recommendations. Has any toner, serum, or skincare routine worked for you? I'm not looking for laser or cosmetic treatments-only topical skincare products. Would love to hear what made a noticeable difference. submitted by /u/Solid_Ad4781 [link] [comments]
- [Routine Help] Acne-prone/oily skin, large pores, acne scars + lightweight SPF recommendations? (Interested in Centella/K-beauty)Hi everyone! I’ve been trying to build a proper skincare routine and thought this would be a good place to ask for honest recommendations from people who actually use these products. I’ve recently been hearing a lot about Korean skincare, especially Centella products, and I’d love some advice on where to start. Skin concerns: Acne-prone skin (had acne since I was around 13, currently 22) Combination to oily skin (used Accutane about 5 years ago, so it’s less oily than before, but still definitely leans oily) Large pores / blackheads -Mild acne scarring and post-acne marks -Dullness/lack of glow so I’m guessing I mainly need help with: serum recommendations, moisturiser recommendations, lightweight SPF recommendations (very important because I hate heavy/suffocating sunscreens), products that help with a natural glow without making me greasy... I also realised I don’t fully understand ingredients yet. For example, I think ingredients like BHA/salicylic acid or niacinamide help with pores and blackheads, but I’ve mostly just followed dermatologist recommendations in the past without really understanding what each product actually did. So if anyone could also explain: which ingredients are best for pores/blackheads, acne scars/post-acne marks, and oily skin, I’d really appreciate it. If you’ve personally used Centella products (or any other products you genuinely loved for similar skin concerns), I’d love to hear your experiences. Thanks so much 💛 submitted by /u/kathykens [link] [comments]
- Reduce appearance of nose pores/sebaceous filament under makeup?I have always had fairly large nose pores and I can minimize their appearance fairly well, but so much makeup just clings to them and accentuates them!! Is there a good cleansing routine or base to go under makeup that can help with this? If I tap concealer on very carefully it is not as bad, but any skin tints just highlight them and I feel like I can't use makeup products that should be convenient. submitted by /u/FailNo5694 [link] [comments]
