Thirty-Five and Frown Lines? Cheek Fillers to the Rescue?
Please advise me on what to do about my nasolabial folds.

Thirty-five and frown lines? It’s a classic conundrum, isn’t it? Suddenly, your reflection starts to look less like a youthful selfie and more like a sophisticated, albeit slightly concerned, portrait. And when those little lines around your mouth decide to become permanent residents, well, that’s when the internet rabbit hole beckons. Our Reddit friend here, bless their heart, is facing the dreaded “looking my age” moment, complete with a long-standing, asymmetrical vendetta against their nasolabial folds. It’s a relatable struggle, even if the suggested solution involves a touch of couture-level precision with a needle. The good news? They’ve already taken the brave step of consulting a surgeon, who’s proposed a dual attack: 2mL of hyaluronic acid strategically placed in the cheeks and those stubborn folds. It’s all about restoring a little symmetry and a lot of confidence, proving that sometimes, a little glam can go a long way in smoothing out life’s little wrinkles, both literal and figurative.

Now, the million-dollar question, or perhaps the 2mL question: is it too much? And is this the *only* way to achieve that sought-after, natural glow? The beauty of the internet, of course, is the collective wisdom (and occasional chaos) of those who’ve been there, done that, and probably have the before-and-after photos to prove it. Our Reddit confidante is wisely seeking out those real-life experiences, hoping for a chorus of “it looked amazing and totally natural” or at least some alternative, equally fabulous suggestions. It’s a testament to the empowering shift happening in beauty: we’re moving beyond hiding imperfections and towards enhancing what makes us uniquely us, with a healthy dose of humor about the whole process. After all, a little filler here and there is just another tool in the glamour arsenal, right?

It’s a fascinating dance between embracing our journey and wanting to put our best face forward, especially when it comes to those subtle signs of time. The desire for a natural look is paramount, and the fear of looking “done” is a common concern. This is precisely where the beauty of informed choices, and perhaps a touch of playful experimentation, comes in. Whether it’s the HA route or another innovative treatment, the ultimate goal is to feel as confident and as radiant as the couture gowns we might admire. It's about finding that sweet spot where a little intervention amplifies your inherent fabulousness, allowing you to face the world with a smile that’s as genuine as it is smooth. And who knows, maybe a little bit of cheeky filler is just the confidence boost needed to own those thirty-five years with unparalleled pizzazz.

From Beauty

I'm turning 35 later this year and I feel like I'm starting to look my age. Despite my huge nose, I despise my asymmetrical nasolabial folds that I've had since childhood. I've consulted with a surgeon and she suggested 2mL of HA in the cheeks and the folds to correct the asymmetry.

Has anyone had something similar done to their face and did it turn out nice and natural looking? Are 2mL not too much? Or is there any other treatment you'd rather recommend?
