Wax or epilator?
Our take
Hi!! I started waxing when I was 12. I tried waxing about 4 or 5 times, but the pain was awful. I cried, I kicked, and since then I've been using a razor. But I'm fed up with the thickness of the hair, the increasing amount, and the hassle of shaving 3 times a week. My mother had a Braun epilator that she used (before anything else, before we both use the epilator, we make sure to thoroughly clean the heads). I think I'm not risking myself by saying that the epilator is from the 1990s. It's a great epilator, but I can only do from the middle of my leg to a little above the knee. Ankles, bikini line, left side of my thighs are hell. I don't want to buy a new epilator; if I use one, I want to use this one. But I'm wondering: do you think it's better to try waxing again or try to get more used to the epilator? And if I'm going to get used to the machine, are there any tips to make the hair removal process less painful? Thank you!

- Horrid influx of ingrown hair post waxinghi! f18 here, just like the title says, i got waxed after around 4/5 ish months last month, and my previous waxing exp was also really bad- led to bumpy hair in my calves area, and ingorwn hair in my inner thighs, but this time it was actually SO bad, i have bumpy hair growing all over my legs and my inner thighs now have spots from previous ingrown hair and more just seem to keep coming, in my arms theres nothing wrong but i also have 2 hairs coming from one area in y legs and pits. This has absolutely broken any sense of comfort i had in my body i feel so disgusting and ugly, but i dont know how to get rid of them, theres no set 'cleansing routine' i follow pre and post waxing because ever since i started, which was like 3rd grade, this has never happened. is it my doing? am i going to the wrong waxing people? should i try epillating instead? (i do it for my face usually), or shaving? (never tried thinking hair would come out rough. i could really use any advice on how i can get rid of these spots, ingrown and bumpy hair, and the 2 hair in one sithc, please. submitted by /u/curiouscaterpillar44 [link] [comments]
- Advise on hair removalI never had a problem with shaving my legs but it’s been an issue for more than a year now & it irritates my skin after I shave. I have tried exfoliation (with gloves & chemically) moisturizing, men razors, regular women razors, and single blade razors. And different types of shaving cream. I get super itchy and irritated . Should I just take the loss and just wax now? submitted by /u/Other_Resolve9026 [link] [comments]
- People who choose waxing specifically over laserI'm a waxing girl and have been for 15 years. It's not something I want to give up, so I know nobody can make me, but every time I go to get my chin lasered (plucking did not work, made the hair coarser), the lovely lady tells me to get everywhere lasered. I specifically have a fear of dragging a razor over my labia, it's not something I'll ever do and I've told her so, but she insists the results will be amazing. What is the kindest thing I can say, as I still have about six or seven sessions remaining with her... Also tell me your experiences with waxing and why it's something you'll stick to, despite most people choosing laser as the superior option these days. - Brazilian waxI’ve gotten a Brazilian wax about 10 times and no matter who I go to it’s always so painful. I like getting them done because it’s just such a better regrowth than shaving. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the experience less painful? submitted by /u/Inside-54545 [link] [comments]
