Most worthwhile airline Post-SW foolishness

Looked through a couple of different subs, but haven't found a recent answer.

Now that Southwest has stopped its open seating and free checked bag policies, is there an airline that stands out over the others in relation to rewards programs and earnings? I travel for work a bit and want to make the most out of the points I can gather. Any airlines let you connect hotel and car rental services to earn points off of them as well? Thanks!
