Fake tan advice
Our take
Hey there, pale-skinned glam squad! If you’re like me and crave that sun-kissed glow without the fear of looking like a striped baguette, you're in the right place. The struggle with fake tan can be real—trust me, I feel you! From awkward splotches to fading faster than your motivation on a Monday, finding the right product and application method is key. Let’s dive into some affordable fake tan options and tips that will leave your skin looking flawlessly bronzed, not like dirt.
Hi! I’m naturally ghostly pale, and I hate it. I feel my best when I’m tanned (like not intense tan, like the results of a 2week+ holiday somewhere warm) but fake tan never works on me. It looks like tiger bread and it’s awful. I have tried washing it off after an hour, 5 hours, 10 hours etc and nothing works. It always either disappears or looks awful, like dirt. Can someone give me a good affordable fake tan product I could use (I haven’t got any skin issues but my skin can be sensitive sometimes, and I haven’t drier skin) and how to apply it, and what to do before and after I apply it. Thank you!

- Fake tan and sweating 🥵Hello, Looking for some advice on how people avoid fake tan going patchy when they get sweaty?! 😬 for example working out or when on holiday? I understand it’s inevitable it will break down a lot quicker the more you sweat but is there anyway to keep it looking as even as possible and not totally patchy?! Thank you ☺️ submitted by /u/DaisyChain_89 [link] [comments]
- Self tan questionHi this is potentially a stupid question- but I tried out a self tan oil the other day for the first time and I truthfully didn’t expect it to work and it did. So now I have my first ever fake tan and it looks not bad considering I had no faith But now it’s like lifting on my ankles and wrists, and so I’m wondering- do yall remove old self tan or wait for it to come off before applying new? Or just apply on top? How long does it usually last? If y’all are removing it , may I ask how?? Because I used soap and a body scrub and now I’m just patchy af submitted by /u/Butt_munch_er [link] [comments]
- Fake Tan RoutineI would love to be tanned every day of the year and know that a lot of people have their fake tan routine down to a T. I find it such an effort that never works out right and was hoping one of these people who know the secret could help me out! First of all, how do you stop it ruining your sheets? Second, mine goes patchy after a couple of days and I gym often and the sweat makes the tan rub off onto my clothes. All in all, is there a secret to making it more effortless so I can be permanently tanned (living in a cold country) as opposed to only finding the energy to do it once in a blue moon. submitted by /u/Novawylde [link] [comments]
- [ M 39 ] Looking for a good self tanner or something elseHello, M, 39, pretty pale skin here. I’m looking for a simple way to get a healthier, natural-looking tan / glow. I wear SPF50 every day as part of my anti-aging/skincare routine, so I’m not looking to tan in the sun. I’ve used self-tanners in the past, and I’m wondering if there are any real game changers in 2026. I’ve also already tried carotenoid tanning capsules/supplements, with basically no visible effect. What works best these days: mousse, lotion, spray, drops mixed into moisturizer, gradual tanners, or something else? My priorities are: natural bronzed look noticeable result, but still balanced and realistic no orange tone even fade no patchiness or streaks easy application decent longevity Also, are there any tinted moisturizers or bronzing fluids that give a healthy sun-kissed tone instantly, but without looking like makeup or staining clothes? Would love product recommendations, routines, or application tips. Thanks! submitted by /u/Solid-Natural935 [link] [comments]
