Hesitating between Ghd platinum + and L’Oreal Steampod 4 for my fine wavy puffy humidity prone haie

Our take

Choosing between the GHD Platinum+ and the L’Oreal Steampod 4 for your fine, wavy, and humidity-prone hair can feel overwhelming, especially with mixed opinions swirling around. You’re aiming for sleek, smooth hair without puffiness at the roots, while still wanting the flexibility to create soft curls or waves occasionally. The GHD Platinum+ is often praised for styling versatility, while the Steampod 4 excels in frizz and humidity control. Let’s break down the strengths of each to find the perfect match for your hair goals!

I need help choosing between GHD Platinum+ and Steampod 4.

My hair type:

• fine, slightly wavy • very frizzy / puffy (especially at the roots) • baby hairs + static • very sensitive to humidity

My goal:

✨ sleek, smooth “clean” hair

✨ no puff / smooth roots

✨ long-lasting results (I’ll use it max 2x/week)

✨ I also like soft bouncy curls / waves sometimes

I’m confused because I see mixed opinions:

• some say GHD is better for styling and curls • others say Steampod is unbeatable for frizz and humidity control

What would you recommend for my hair type and goals?

Thanks a lot 🙏
