I need a hair tool that gives me the best hair ( fine hair )
Our take
If you're battling fine, slightly wavy hair in a humid climate, finding the right hair tool can feel like an uphill struggle. You crave that sleek, salon-blowout look that holds up all day, even after workouts. While you’ve tried the Shark FlexStyle and a Remington straightener, the puffiness at your roots remains a frustrating challenge. With no interest in a ten-step routine, you seek one standout tool or product that delivers results. Can Dyson or GHD provide the humidity-proof solution you’ve been searching for?
I live in a super humid place and my hair (slightly wavy) gets puffy FAST and loses shape right after styling. My roots are the worst — only a straightener makes them look sleek, otherwise they puff up immediately.
I have the Shark FlexStyle and a Remington straightener but honestly… I’m not impressed. My hair still ends up puffy.
I just want smooth, sleek, “salon blowout” hair that actually lasts all day with minimal effort. I work out 4x/week so I need something quick and efficient.
I don’t care about the price — I just want something that works: tools or ONE good product (not 10 pls 😭).
Dyson? GHD? What actually keeps hair from puffing in humidity??

- Desperate for hair tool recommendationsHello, everyone I need so much help with hair tool recommendations. I feel like the amount of options is frying my brain. I'm looking for a blow dry brush (something that dries from wet and comes out straight) as well as a high speed blow dryer used with a blow out brush. I've been bombarded with so many ads from TYMO, WavyTalk, Shark, L'ange, Drybar etc and would love to know your experiences with these brands or others you've tried. A little bit about my hair: I have FRIZZY high porosity 2c/3a curls that are pretty damaged at the ends. On the longer side and medium thickness. I wash my hair once a week in the morning (usually Sunday), let it air dry for hours, and then straighten it (I've never found a way to embrace my curls). The whole process has gotten really tedious and I'm looking to make it quicker or more efficient. Any advice/experiences/recommendations would be so great! - Hesitating between Ghd platinum + and L’Oreal Steampod 4 for my fine wavy puffy humidity prone haieI need help choosing between GHD Platinum+ and Steampod 4. My hair type: • fine, slightly wavy • very frizzy / puffy (especially at the roots) • baby hairs + static • very sensitive to humidity My goal: ✨ sleek, smooth “clean” hair ✨ no puff / smooth roots ✨ long-lasting results (I’ll use it max 2x/week) ✨ I also like soft bouncy curls / waves sometimes I’m confused because I see mixed opinions: • some say GHD is better for styling and curls • others say Steampod is unbeatable for frizz and humidity control What would you recommend for my hair type and goals? Thanks a lot 🙏 submitted by /u/Ferielbch [link] [comments]
- Elle Woods Blowout? So I work at Ulta Beauty and have accumulated a good chunk of points, planning to save them all for either a big shopping spree or expensive hair tool. Since I'm someone who doesn't typically do much with their hair outside of the shower and the salon, I felt getting a fancy hair tool probably wasn't the best bet for me. But recently I've been wanting to start blowing out my hair at home, specifically to get the look of Elle Woods' iconic blowout. Since my expertise is more in skincare and makeup, I was hoping someone who's good with hair would be able to tell me what I'll need to achieve that look at home? Specifically tools, products, and general technique. I'm willing to buy an expensive hair tool, so if anyone has recommendations please lmk! Dyson, Shark, Drybar, etc. For reference: I have 2B waves and high porosity hair! submitted by /u/TangerineSpritzz [link] [comments]
- Blow dryer recommendation for frizzy wavy hair?I am on the market for a new blow dryer for my frizzy wavy and coarse hair, I recently purchased a Dyson air-wrap but I’m sure it was the learning curve I wasn’t in love with my outcome & due to the price I couldn’t justify the price tag. I do like the idea of it not being as damaging so I’d like something similar. If possible I’d like it to not be too loud and I found the Dyson to be a bit too high pitch for me which I did not like. One of the ones I considered was the Babyliss pro titanium blow dryer but I’ve used their straighteners before and they feel kind of damaging and seem like they’re meant more for the professionals so not sure that’s good for what im looking for? submitted by /u/patrickstarsrock2 [link] [comments]
