I have all the products but no idea how to actually use them properly?!
Our take
i feel like over time i just kept buying skincare without really thinking and now i have all these products but no real routine that makes sense, like rn i use a cleanser then toner then niacinamide, sometimes vitamin c but not even sure if im supposed to use it in the morning or night?? then moisturizer and sunscreen
at night i try to use retinol but i get nervous about it so i skip it a lot and then i’ll randomly use an exfoliant some nights but idk if im overdoing it or not, my skin isn’t terrible but it’s just not improving. i still have texture on my cheeks, random small breakouts and it just looks kinda dull no matter what i do, i also dont really understand what shouldnt be mixed together or how often i should be using actives vs just keeping it simple
it honestly feels like im just layering random stuff and hoping something works, how do people actually figure out a routine that makes sense and doesnt just make things worse? helppp!!

- Skincare routine - How do I do with these products?37F, skin prone to clogged pores, still don’t know what exactly is the order of applying these products. I have the following I know: Cleanser - obvious Toner - I use it each time after washing my face to keep the sebum under control Moisturiser - comes last But then there are these: Vitamin-C (or any other kind of serum) - before moisturiser but then there’s an uncomfortable layer on my skin Sunscreen - comes after moisturiser or instead of it? And what if you apply foundation? I’ve recently started using it and normally do it after moisturiser but what about sunscreen? Does it have any impact if I apply it under the foundation? I don’t have any specific night care. Just once in a blue moon I apply argan oil. Also, do you use cleanser every morning (nights are obvious) or is just water enough? I feel like it isn’t especially because of removing the remains of moisturiser but also feel like it’s kind of too aggressive to my skin. submitted by /u/foreveronthemove [link] [comments]
- Growing skincare stash and could use some help figuring out the right order?Been adding a few things lately and now I have more than I know what to do with. Working with Drunk Elephant B-Hydra, Rare Beauty moisturizer, Paula's Choice exfoliant, First Aid Beauty KP bump eraser, Tatcha rice wash and Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. Mainly unsure how often to use the exfoliant and what the best layering order would be. How do you guys manage a bigger routine without overdoing it? submitted by /u/Neither-Bar-6499 [link] [comments]
- Completely lost with skincare and don’t know where to startHi everyone, I’m completely lost with skincare and I don’t really know where to start. Right now I use a serum from The Ordinary (niacinamide + zinc) and a CeraVe moisturizer, but honestly I feel like they’re not doing much for me. I have a lot of little red marks spots on my face, and I also think I might have something similar to rosacea because my skin gets red and sensitive (specially after a hot shower or temperature changes) but I’ve never had it checked so I don’t want to self-diagnose. My skin also feels really dry and flaky. The weird thing is that the more I moisturize, the more it feels like my skin depends on it. If I forget moisturizer for even one day, my face starts peeling a lot. I don’t know if my skin barrier is damaged, if I’m using the wrong products, or if I’m just missing something obvious. I really love the Korean glass skin look, but I have no idea how people actually get there, especially with dry/sensitive skin. I don’t want to buy a million random products, so I’d love help building a very simple beginner routine and knowing what ingredients or products I should look for or avoid. Thanks so much in advance. I’m genuinely starting from zero here, so any simple advice would be really helpful. submitted by /u/Valuable_Air_1747 [link] [comments]
- Is layering multiple skincare products actually better, or am I just overdoing it ?I've been seeing a lot of routines where people layer multiple products like toner, essence, serums and moisturizer and I'm trying to figure out if it's actually worth it or if it's just overkill. Right now my routine is very simple, but I'm tempted to start adding more serums to target things like texture and dullness. At the same time I don't want to irritate my skin or waste money. For those of you that layer products: . How many is too much . Do you get better results compared to a simple routine? . Are there combinations to avoid? Would love to hear what worked for you. submitted by /u/Kona00 [link] [comments]
