Is layering multiple skincare products actually better, or am I just overdoing it ?

Our take

Are you caught in the skincare layering dilemma? With countless routines showcasing an array of products like toners, essences, serums, and moisturizers, it’s easy to wonder if more is truly better or just excessive. As you contemplate adding serums to target texture and dullness, the fear of irritation and wasted money looms large. For those who embrace the art of layering, share your insights: How many products is too many? Do you see results that surpass a simple routine?

I've been seeing a lot of routines where people layer multiple products like toner, essence, serums and moisturizer and I'm trying to figure out if it's actually worth it or if it's just overkill.

Right now my routine is very simple, but I'm tempted to start adding more serums to target things like texture and dullness. At the same time I don't want to irritate my skin or waste money.

For those of you that layer products:

. How many is too much

. Do you get better results compared to a simple routine?

. Are there combinations to avoid?

Would love to hear what worked for you.
